Blaqbonez Shares The Startling Realization That Travelling Out Of Nigeria Showed Him

“Nigeria is hectic, but it is still home!” Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has sparked a conversation about life in Nigeria after revealing that travelling abroad opened his eyes to just how much the country still has to catch up on.
The rapper admitted that experiencing life in other countries made him realise that Nigeria is far from where it should be in terms of development. Despite the challenges, however, he says the country’s vibrant energy and relentless hustle culture remain part of what makes being Nigerian special.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Zeze Millz Show, Blaqbonez expressed his wish for a better Nigeria, acknowledging that although the country can be exhausting, it still holds a special place in his heart.
“Nigeria is hectic, but it is still home. When you go to other countries, you will realise how far we are from where we should be. But the vibe and energy are still there. There is a hustle spirit that comes with being Nigerian. I really wish the country was better,” he said.
Blaqbonez made it clear that he doesn’t see himself spending the rest of his life in Nigeria, suggesting that many successful people may share similar thoughts when planning their golden years.
“I don’t want to spend the rest of my life living in Nigeria. I don’t think that there is any successful person who wants to live in Nigeria after retirement. Maybe there are some people,” he stated.
And what does his dream retirement look like? Forget the noise of city life and the everyday hustle. Blaqbonez envisions a peaceful life on a sprawling ranch, surrounded by animals and far removed from the pressures of the modern world.
He explained that owning a big ranch and raising animals is the kind of lifestyle he hopes to enjoy in retirement, adding that he doesn’t see that vision fitting into his plans for life in Nigeria.
His comments highlight a familiar dilemma for many Nigerians: loving the country, embracing its culture and never-say-die spirit, while still wishing for better infrastructure, more opportunities and a more comfortable standard of living.
For Blaqbonez, the message appears clear: Nigeria may always be home, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s where he wants to spend his retirement.
