Miley Cyrus Pays Tribute to Godmother Dolly Parton In Emotional Tribute

Miley Cyrus is remembering her beloved godmother, country music legend Dolly Parton, with a message filled with love, grief and memories.
Following Parton’s death at the age of 80 on August 25, Cyrus took to social media to pay tribute to the iconic singer, describing the pain of losing someone who was not only a global music legend but also a deeply cherished member of her family.
“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,” Cyrus wrote in her heartfelt message.
Reflecting on one of their final conversations, Cyrus revealed that the two had spoken about music and metamorphosis, adding a poignant butterfly emoji to her post.
She also recalled the advice she believes Parton would have wanted her to follow — to feel the pain, turn it into music, and keep moving forward with strength.
“What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong,” Cyrus wrote. “I have an angel by my side. I always have.”
Cyrus went on to promise that she would continue to carry Parton’s memory with her, saying she would “always love her” and strive to make her proud.
“My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply,” she wrote. “We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things.”
For Cyrus, Parton was more than a country music icon. She was her godmother, mentor, family and lifelong source of love — and her legacy, both in music and in the lives she touched, will undoubtedly live on.
