Lady Gaga Welcomes Her First Child With Fiancé

Lady Gaga is stepping into a new chapter: motherhood.

The 40-year-old pop star and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, have reportedly welcomed their first child together. Photos obtained by Page Six show Gaga and Polansky in Northern California, with their newborn strapped to Gaga’s chest in a baby carrier.

The arrival of their baby also appears to explain Gaga’s recent disappearance from the spotlight. She wrapped up her Mayhem Ball World Tour in April after nearly nine months on the road and 86 shows, and has largely stayed out of public view since.

Her absence even fueled secret-wedding rumors. While some reports claimed Gaga and Polansky had quietly married and gone on honeymoon, a September 9 TMZ report said people close to the couple who had seen them recently maintained that they were still engaged.

Gaga and Polansky, 42, began dating in 2020 and became engaged in April 2024, keeping the news private for months. Their engagement became public when Gaga introduced Polansky to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Polansky, a Harvard-educated entrepreneur who runs the Parker Foundation and sits on the board of Haus Labs, has also become a creative collaborator, earning writing and production credits on Gaga’s Harlequin and Mayhem. His grass-blade proposal even inspired the Mayhem track “Blade of Grass.”

For Gaga, however, motherhood has been more than a new headline — it has been something she has openly hoped for.

“I’m excited to be a mom,” she told The New York Times Magazine, admitting that she once had reservations about motherhood.

She later put her priorities even more simply: “What I really want to do is be a mom. Hopefully that’s my next starring role.”

Now, it appears that role has officially begun.
