Mr Eazi Reveals His Biggest & Only Regret In Life

For Afrobeats star Mr Eazi, whose career has taken him from Lagos to some of the biggest stages around the world, there is one thing he wishes he could have experienced with his late mother.

And it has nothing to do with fame, money or music.

The singer, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade, revealed that his biggest regret in life is that his mother never got the chance to watch him perform live before her death.

Speaking on an episode of the Brut Podcast, Mr Eazi recalled how his mother, Pastor (Mrs.) Ifeoma Edith Ajibade, was a deeply conservative woman who simply did not enjoy travelling.

According to the singer, getting her to travel from Lagos to Accra was already a challenge, making it almost impossible for her to join him as his music career took him around the world.

“My only regret in life is that my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away,” he said.

Mr Eazi explained that as his career grew, so did his international commitments, with performances taking him to different countries. Sadly, his mother remained at home — but that never stopped her from supporting her son.

She may not have been in the crowd, but she was always in his corner, supporting him with prayers.

Interestingly, his father also had only one opportunity to see him perform live — in 2017, several years after Mr Eazi had already established himself as a music star.

Despite not being regular concertgoers, Mr Eazi says his father has remained one of his biggest supporters, always calling to congratulate him whenever he releases a new song or project.

His mother, a former banker who later became a pastor, passed away on March 6, 2025.

For Mr Eazi, the memories of her support remain — a reminder that sometimes, the most meaningful applause comes from someone who isn’t even in the audience.
