Nicki Minaj Explains Why She Supports Donald Trump

Nicki Minaj doesn’t appear to be backing away from her support for President Donald Trump anytime soon. Despite the criticism that has followed her increasingly public political alignment, the rapper made it clear during a recent Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham that she has no regrets about standing behind the president.

Speaking with Ingraham, Minaj described Trump in deeply personal terms, saying she feels an easy connection with him and believes he makes people feel heard and understood. She also pushed back on the idea that she owes anyone an explanation for her support, saying she has no intention of making excuses for how she feels about the president.

Her comments add another chapter to a relationship with the Trump administration that has become increasingly visible over the past year. Back in January, Minaj appeared alongside Trump at the Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit, where she proudly referred to herself as his “number one fan.” According to Fox News, she also suggested that the backlash surrounding her political views had only strengthened her determination to support him.

Trump, for his part, has also been vocal about his admiration for the rapper. During the premiere of the Melania documentary, he praised Minaj as “a winner” and “a terrific person,” showing that the mutual admiration between the two has been anything but subtle.

And it seems Minaj’s involvement with Trump-linked events isn’t slowing down. Around the same time as her Fox News appearance, she posted a video on X showing off her outfit alongside the caption “#MillionDollarPitch,” hinting at another high-profile appearance connected to the administration.

That appearance was tied to the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition, where Minaj is serving as one of the judges. The live finale is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., on September 18. She’ll be joined on the judging panel by entrepreneur Grant Cardone and Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia, while actor Dean Cain is set to host. Five finalists will compete for a share of a $1 million prize pool funded by Clover Network.

Minaj enthusiastically stepped into the role when the competition was announced in August. Fox News has described the event as part of the administration’s Freedom 250 initiative, which celebrates American entrepreneurship.

With her latest comments, Minaj is making one thing particularly clear: whatever criticism comes her way, she isn’t interested in quietly retreating from her political stance. Instead, she appears increasingly comfortable being open about her support for Trump—and with taking on opportunities that put her even closer to his administration.
