Rema Shares Details Of Recent Heartbreak

Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema, has opened up about a recent heartbreak after a woman he wanted a serious relationship with turned down his proposal for long-term commitment.

The 26-year-old singer made the revelation during a Friday night livestream with streamer Okiki, where he spoke candidly about his love life and the inspiration behind his song, Oh No.

According to Rema, he approached a lady with the intention of building a serious relationship, but she was not ready to settle down with one man.

Instead, she told him she still wanted to enjoy life as a single woman and was not ready to be “taken off the streets.”

Rema said the experience left a mark on him and eventually inspired Oh No.

“The song was inspired by a lady I wanted a serious relationship with, but she said she still wants to be on the streets,” he said.

The singer also reflected on his journey to fame, revealing that he is currently taking a step back to reassess his life.

Rema noted that everything happened incredibly fast after he shot to fame at just 17, suggesting that he now wants to take some time to process the journey and figure out what comes next.
