Veteran Nollywood Actor Jide Kosoko Has Something To Say About President Tinubu’s Administration

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has weighed in on the ongoing debate over President Bola Tinubu’s administration, insisting that the government is making efforts to address Nigeria’s challenges, despite widespread criticism from some Nigerians.
Speaking during an appearance on Talk To B, a podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, Kosoko urged Nigerians to take a step back and reflect on the state of the country before Tinubu assumed office, arguing that the current situation may not be as dire as some people portray it.
“Things are not as bad as some people have claimed and they need to understand. Go and check the majority of those people. Before Tinubu came, what were they eating?” the actor asked.
But when Adebayo pressed him on what tangible evidence an average Nigerian could point to as proof that the President was fixing the country, Kosoko stood his ground, maintaining that Tinubu was working to tackle the problems inherited by his administration.
To back up his argument, the veteran actor highlighted the government’s student loan scheme, calling on beneficiaries to share their experiences and explain how the initiative had made a difference in their lives.
He also pointed to the government’s promise to support graduates struggling to secure employment, arguing that such programmes deserved greater public attention.
Kosoko, who disclosed that his involvement in politics dates back to 1978, suggested that political interests could sometimes cloud people’s judgment and prevent them from recognising what he considers progress under the current administration.
According to him, some opposition figures are aware of the government’s efforts but are unwilling to acknowledge them because of their political ambitions.
“Those in the opposition know the truth. They know that the man is on the right track, but ambition is affecting their thinking,” Kosoko said.
His comments have added another voice to the ongoing national conversation about Tinubu’s leadership, with questions about the government’s performance, the impact of its policies and the everyday realities of Nigerians continuing to fuel public debate.
