The Feds Are Clearly Trying To Thwart Lil Durk’s Bail & Keep Him In Jail

Lil Durk is set to appear in court today for his bond hearing, which will determine whether or not he will earn his freedom prior to his VICAR trial in August of 2027. However, just hours before the hearing, the Feds have come through with their opposition filing, and some major details were revealed.

If you remember, Durk was thrown in solitary confinement late last week for allegedly “talking back” to the authorities at the Metropolitan Detention Center. This came after numerous security checks in his cell, with officials claiming they were looking for “contraband.” Nothing was found, but they decided to punish Durk for insubordination.

Now, the Feds are looking to use this situation as proof for why Durk does not deserve bail. According to @youvegtMEL on X, the government is saying Durk “knowingly violated MDC rules, refusing to comply with guards’ lawful orders.”

He was accused of “talking back” to prison officials. They say this occurred after numerous searches of his cell for contraband. The authorities never found anything, and Durk simply asked why he was being searched. This is allegedly what the prison calls “talking back.”

earlier today, the Federal prosecutors submitted their opposition to Durk’s request for bond. It was here that they claimed an investigation into Durk’s alleged conduct is being conducted. Additionally, Meghann Cuniff reported that new charges could be on the horizon.

The Federal filing also aimed at JAŸ-Z, J. Cole, and others. They claim that Durk is trying to use celebrity endorsements to get special treatment and that a JAŸ-Z and J. Cole co-sign should not be the benchmark for obtaining bond.

“Defendant has trotted out several celebrities in his support,” the filing reads. “This familiar playbook to apply public pressure to these proceedings, in search of preferential treatment, should be rejected out of hand by this Court.”

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that Durk was, indeed, found with any contraband on him. With this latest filing, the prosecution’s playbook is fairly clear. They want Durk to stay in jail, and they are trying to sell the belief that the artist is a risk.
